In order to see, to know the person behind this channel, I asked Thomas to answer some questions I had prepared. I hope they will give some insight, understanding in the person Thomas S. Hansen.
Question
"Please tell us something about yourself"
Answer
Hello,
my name is Thomas S. Hansen, or tshansen as many know me as trough
social media and Youtube.
I’m 39 years old, I live with my girlfriend
and my litlle kid in Bergen on the west coast of Norway.
I work as a
Firefighter and Rescue leader (USAR Team) and really enjoy my work, but
my biggest passions except motorcycles are video and Photography.
Question
"How long do you ride motorcycle"
Answer
I got my license back in 2006 so I have been riding motorcycles most of my adult life.
Question
"What do you prefer: riding on the road or TET"
Answer
I do prefer
both….
There is something completely different between gravel and road
riding, but still so similar. Some of my best experiences on a
motorcycle comes from some of my gravel adventures.
Adventure riders has
a much more humble approach to this whole motorcycle living.
And I
think that is a great thing and I love being a part of that.
Question
"Do you have a favourite motorcycle brand and, or model"
Answer
Well, this is a yes and no answer…
Ducati has a special place in my
heart but I don’t have a favourite riding bike.
I think this is a
dynamic thing.
Your best bike is always your next bike. You try to find
the best bike for your needs.
I love my KTM 790 Adventure R, but I would
pick something else if I was going around the world or just ride in and
out to Starbucks.
Question
"When and why dit you start your YouTube Channel"
Answer
Haha…
this is a long story actually… but I try to keep it short.
It all
started with a little challenge. I was really into photo and travels
stories (almost like blogging) way back. And a friend of mine was so
impressed by the way I told my stories with text and pictures he would
like to see how I told my stories on video.
I had tried that many years
ago, but the sound and stabilization was terrible back then (2013) He
told me he would by me a new GoPro Hero 7 Black if I started making
videos… a said yes as a joke.
Well, the joke was on me… two weeks later I
had a brand new camera without a clue what to do next.
I never do anything half way. I never back down from a challenge… so I started out with only a GoPro and a lot of good ideas.
This
was in 2019….. so I started to research on YouTube, find what I liked
to watch and what I did not like.. try to copy what I liked and avoid
what I did not like. But most important I wanted to make it as honest
and true as possible.
And
that is kinda how it all started… why I do it?
Well, how can I give a
short answer to this?
I love to help others and share my stories. It
gives me great pleasure to learn new stuff and to become better each
time I do a project.
This video thing is really rewarding in that sense.
The more I fail the more it fuels my fire and I just find it amazing to
make something that others truly enjoy or appreciate.
Question
"What are your future plans"
Answer
My future plans… well, I gonna continue to do what I love.
I’m gonna keep doing what I can’t and continue to make videos online.
I
just started making smal commercials and joining in on bigger
productions this year, so I will continue to explore that part of video
production and if I’m lucky and still enjoy it in the upcoming years.
I
hope that I can make a living out of video and photo so I can travel
more of the world and make even more content.
When I
started in 2019 I had a goal and gave me 5 years reach it. No matter
what the outcome I will do it for 5 years and then evaluate.
Well, now….
After 3 years, I have not only reach my goal, but I have exceeded all
my expectations and have to set new and higher goals each year. It has
been a crazy year.
